Visit to the Firehouse
Well we had a busy Saturday full of fundraising activities. Thanks to our good friend Mike Whittaker, after a wonderful pasta dinner to benefit the Torringford Volunteer Fire Dept. we got to go check out the fire trucks at their firehouse. AJ and Donovan had a blast and Ian wasn't far behind. Aline got to dress up like a fireman too.
Touch-a-Truck
Early Saturday morning AJ and mommy went to a local fundraiser at one of the elementary schools in Southington. It was a lot of fun to see so many big trucks and be able to get in them and beep the horn and play with the buttons. AJ's favorites were the real fire truck, the Shriner's mini fire trucks and of course, the mail truck.

Our Weekend in NYC while Brian worked the NFL Draft
AJ and I went to NYC this past weekend while Brian worked the NFL Draft. We had a lot of fun. We met up with our friends Tania & Marcus at the Bronx Zoo on Saturday. The boys had a great time checking out all the animals and AJ insisted on walking most of the day to be up close to all the action. He loved the gorillas and had lots of fun watching the sea turtles swim.
We walked around Central Park then started heading back to meet up with Brian for his break and walked around Rockefeller Center.
On Sunday we slept in a little then headed out to do some window shopping on 5th Avenue.
We visited our favorite store on 5th - World of Disney and AJ got to meet Woody and Buzz Lightyear. Woody was an instant favorite but Buzz seemed a bit more intimidating with the big space suit so Buzz only got a hello from afar. Afterwards we stopped by FAO Schwarz and we sat outside and had hot dogs by the fountain.
We walked around Central Park then started heading back to meet up with Brian for his break and walked around Rockefeller Center.
The draft went well for Brian and luckily he did not have to work too late on Sunday.
After everyone was done with work we met up for dinner with the NFL Draft crew at an awesome Mexican restaurant. AJ LOVED the mariachis and was dancing and clapping to every song. He even found a girlfriend to dance with at the restaurant.
Our last day in the city was Monday. Brian was off and we were all able to walk around Times Square, Chinatown and Little Italy. We ended our afternoon at Chelsea Market and walked around a bit and had lunch before heading home.
AJ really enjoyed the train rides and subway rides - he kept saying "more choo choo trains". He cried when we got to the car because he wanted "more train". We had a wonderful weekend in NYC. There are tons more pictures if you want to take a look.
