Patricia Alyson Bell (1952-2009)

Patricia Alyson (Tangney) Bell, 56, of Byfield and formerly of Lynn and Peabody, died June 27th at the Brigham and Women's Hospital from complications due to a stroke. Born in Lynn on Dec. 31, 1952 she was the daughter of Vernon and Florence (Beane) Tangney. Patricia graduated from Lynn English High School as a member of the National Honor Society in 1970 and attended Skidmore College in NY. Later she graduated Summa Cum Laude from Northeastern University with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration. She achieved her CMA Certification through the Institute of Certified Management Accounts and was the Accountant/Office Manager for over 20 years at Ashby Cross Co. in Newburyport. Patricia was also a member of the Newburyport Choral Society for 12 years.

She was the loving wife of Ronald Bell of Byfield whom she married on September 24, 1972 and is also survived by her mother Florence Tangney of Newburyport, children Brian Bell and his wife Millie of Bristol, CT and Christopher Bell of Byfield; grandchildren Andrew James Bell and Brady Michael Bell; as well as siblings, Carole Sheehy of Virginia, and Robert Tangney and his wife Linda of Freemont, NH.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday at 10 AM at the Twomey-LeBlanc and Conte Funeral Home, 193 High Street, Newburyport, MA 01950. Family and friends may call on Wednesday from 4 to 7 pm also at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made in Patricia's name to the charity of one's choice.
